The challenge with these kinds of cards is how to properly manage their usage so as to not run ourselves into serious debt. Strangely enough not as many people have debit cards and for those how do the challenge will be to remember how much funds are available. So which is better will depend on the following.

Recognise that a credit card is really a type of loan that has a set spending limit for the user. So the main thing here is that it is a loan and as such it is a debt that you will have to repay. Usually there is a period that is interest free but should you not pay the full bill there will be interest charges payable.

Chances you have seen ads and pop up banners about debit cards but you may not know is that they are really bank cards. They are similar to a Point Of Sale card and as such are used in the same way, i.e. you can cash from an ATM’s, pay for goods and services etc. Debit cards depending on the types can also have worldwide usage as with certain credit cards.

Debit cards only allow you to withdraw the funds that are currently in your account and no more.

Is there anything in this world that is constant? Is there anything that can survive without change? Of course not. Well, is your financial condition prepared for such a change? Are you in a position to overcome any sudden change in your lifestyle? What if you lose your job? What if your skills become irrelevant? You may be working in the metal packaging industry and may be doing very well.

What if there is a new invention which makes plastic as hard as a metal? What will happen to your business then? What if you meet with an accident and lose a limb? What if your spouse makes a financial mistake and you end up losing your financial savings to settle the issue? Some of these questions may be fantastic and impossible. However, you should be in a position to manage all these problems and possibilities on your own. If not, then your financial condition requires improvement.

Many persons feel frustrated when they are forced to adopt such high standards for their financial life. Well, you have the option of lowering standards and focusing on a hand to mouth existence. However, sooner or later, you will end up in trouble and will be forced to beg for money. You will have to apply for different credit cards and then beg for an extension that will help you repay the debt over a longer period. If you want avoid such complications in your family and financial life, you should adopt a disciplined and committed approach.

Stop being so lenient on your self where finances are concerned. To save money and have a stable life is not a simple task. You will have to plan, analyze and implement all your strategies properly. This is a long process and requires an early start. Make sure you start planning your finances even before you start earning an income.

Do you have a stable financial life? Would you be interested in living with a person who cannot stand on his or her feet for a long time? Of course not. This condition clearly indicates that something is wrong with the structural stability of the individual. Well, then how can you presume that people would want to interact with a person who is not financially stable? Are you in a position to indulge in the few impulsive purchases every once in a while?

You will probably remember the long lectures that you heard about the risks of impulsive expenditure using your credit card. The idea is not to ask you to indulge in impulsive expenditure. The idea is to ask you whether you have the ability to indulge in this expenditure if you so wish. If yes, then you can congratulate yourself for having done a good job with your finances. If you can purchase dress fabrics from the mall without a second thought about your finances, you have probably managed your finances perfectly.

You must be aware of the exact amount of cash in hand to make such purchases. You must also be aware of the amount of expenses that you owe to other individuals when you are making such a purchase. If you can finalize this calculation in a span of a few minutes, you probably have managed your finances very well. If not, then this is the golden ideal that you should aim for. If you adopt such an approach, you will quickly understand the important rules of financial management.

The important thing is to focus on the basics. You should have a goal. It may be something as inane as the freedom to incur impulsive expenditure whenever you want. Or, it may be a serious goal such as purchasing your own house. The long term goal combined with short term efforts makes a huge difference.

Are you searching for a practical solution that will help you avoid all financial troubles? Well, there are certain basic rules that you must always follow to enjoy financial bliss. How much money do you own? How much do you spend? What is the frequency of your income? Are there any fixed expenses that you have to bear on a regular basis? It is important to have the answer to all these questions at all times. You must have all these answers that the tip of your tongue.

You should not even feel the need to refer to your spreadsheet or personal financial notebook to find the answers to these questions. Only then will you be in a position to manage financial problems without any difficulty. Many persons make the mistake of committing to financial transactions without understanding whether they can afford it or not. Why does this problem occur? Well, such individuals probably do not have any idea as to the current state of their finances.

Hence, the fundamental rule of financial bliss is to know your financial position and to keep track of it at all times. Most of us have the habit of coming up with a financial plan every once in a while. Instead, we should make it a point to prepare the plan every two or three months. This will help us keep track of the various trends in our financial life.

If your business suffers for a few months every year, you would do well to know more about it and plan accordingly. If you follow these basic rules, you will be in a position to manage your finances with a lot of control. It does not matter whether you are Peter Smith living in America or Jonathan living in Germany. These rules related to finances happen to apply to everybody in an equal manner.

Have you considered investing your money in a destination that can actually bring you profits that you have never imagined achieving in Europe? Well, making such an investment is not easy - special research needs to be done, special attention needs to be paid to emerging economies and markets, to the developed world and the state of economic development if the investment is surely going to be in a foreign country. However, having done all of these, I can confirm I have found the perfect destination for investing - Abu Dhabi.

From dance fabrics of high quality, to computers, Abu Dhabi is the production centre of the middle East with the greatest success. Just like Dubai, but not that reckless and negligent as to the money it possesses, Abu Dhabi is a growing emirate that would soon become the economic world heaven. The economic state of development of the country cannot be properly estimated just because it grows further and further surprising the world financial advisers and economists.

Where to invest? There are several sectors you can invest in. You can directly invest in some of the open companies in the country but, in terms of real profitability, it would be good if you consult your bank so that you would be enabled to invest in more closed circles. One such circle is the Abu Dhabi Green City, the construction of an additional facilities to the existing and most prestigious F1 track in the city, in gold trade, in banking or debt. You can always do that and enjoy the perfect profit from your investment in the long term. And this is all because Abu Dhabi becomes the economic leader in the Arab world.

Many persons contact a reputed independent financial advisor and complain that they just do not have the ability to manage their credit cards properly. Such persons contact the advisor and expect him or her to come up with a magic solution to the problem. Well, you are the only person who is going to suffer if you don’t handle your credit cards properly. Other persons can help you control your habit but it is you will have to take the final plunge.

People make it sound as if they are forced to use credit cards by others. The truth is that people use credit cards in an indiscriminate and irresponsible manner simply because they do not have control over their emotions. They see a beautiful dress in the mall decide to purchase it immediately without any regard to the financial consequences of their decision.

Well, if this is your story, don’t expect any third party independent adviser to help you out. At the end of the day, you are the person who sees the dress at the mall and you are the person who makes an impulsive decision to use their credit card to purchase the same. Unless you hand over all powers to the third party adviser, you are always going to end up on the losing side if you expect others to help you out.

Of course, advisers can give you assistance and information on the right way to proceed. However, don’t expect them to provide a magic solution where you can change your problems without changing yourself.

We live in times where most of us either have a mortgage, or credit cards, or personal loans or all three of these. We tend to get excited when we get bigger and bigger loans from the bank to finance purchases that we could actually do easily without. For every small increase in our income we want to consume even more, but do we really think what happens in the long run. When we get a mortgage we lose so much independence. We push ourselves to work harder and harder so that we can live in a bigger house instead of a smaller one, afford a new BMW lease instead of buying a cheaper and older Vauxhall and get the posh gym membership that we rarely use. Most of the times we manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat, but do we actually think about what we actually sacrifice. We sacrifice spending time with our families for a bigger house; we sacrifice such precious moments as school performances of our kids for a fancy car. Do these materialistic goals really matter to us? What does a person ask themselves in his last days: Could I have bought the more expensive car, house and holiday or was I a good father, husband and friend? It is my opinion that getting into too much credit is linked to our internal instinct of preservation. The society we live in makes us think that we actually need the bigger house and the faster car, but a truly intelligent person can say that that is just a very sophisticated system that imprisons working people for the duration of their lives. A word of advice, buy only what you can afford now, try to avoid credit as much as possible and, believe me, you will live a happier life. After all, who says that happiness is to be equated with material wellbeing?

My friend wanted to investigate some laser hair removal clinics but was also lamenting that even if he finds one he likes he may not be able to afford it. He says he’s trying to cut back on his spending and save some money so that he can afford it soon. I asked him about his credit card and the interest he is paying. I advised that he could be paying less credit card interest. Here’s how.

These days credit card interest rates can be anywhere from just under 1% up to about 30%. The lower rates are usually for introductory offers and the higher rates usually apply to credit lines for high risk people.

Possibly the most important thing you can do is to pay your bills before they are due and not wait until the due date. This will reduce the rate you will be paying. Remember that the interest you pay is based on your daily balance.

Another good thing to do is to pay your bills as often as possible. Here as you received some money you put some towards your credit card bill instead of waiting until a certain time of the month to pay. The more frequent you pay the quicker the debt is paid off.

You should also pay those expensive debts first. Pay off the debts that have the higher interest rates and make the minimum payment on all the other debts.

If you have some funds put aside that is large enough you should use it to pay off your debts.

If you are considering an investment in the commodities market, this is your chance to actually change your mind. The highly unstable market might be a tempting opportunity but think about the price you are going to pay.
Bloomberg Market research has shown a trend in people to invest in commodities - from gold to metals, the industry is undergoing never ending price increase due to increasing frustrations in the international trade mainly coming from the Arab countries unrest. But economist say such investments by individuals with no corporate intentions might be dangerous.
Several problems might occur. Firstly, an individual tempted to invest might vest his personal capital in, say, gold. Gold would increase steadily and this is not of any doubt. The limited resources are always increasing in price as it is with gold, platinum and metals such as copper. But the problem is not the return, but the limits of this return in terms of time. The big corporations impose unreasonably high periods of return and interest accumulation.
For example, you decide to pay 10,000 pounds of your own capital into commodities trade and to ensure a proper return. Undoubtedly, a return rate would come. However, suppose that you need to wait for 2 years in order to regain some 10,500 pounds. So for 500 pounds of return, you would be waiting 2 years and would pay 10,000 pounds. These are of course rough calculations, but even if the profit is 20%, for 2000 pounds, 2 years of waiting are unreasonably long period of waiting.
The research provides that the more you input, the more you gain. This is of course simple logics and we all agree. But think about whether you can afford waiting for so long considering the ever increasing prices that the general consumer is facing. You might restrict yourself from th laser hair removal Berkshire can offer, but can you deprive yourself from necessities when it comes to prolonged waiting.

The idea of owning a home, a place that you can be assured you will always be able to call your own has a lot of appeal in it. Especially if you have a good job say building online recruitment software. Buying a house is however no mean feat and this is why most potential home owners all over the world settle for taking out mortgages. The mortgage market has however been hit by a new sought of reality. The recent housing crisis and financial problems have led to extremely high deposits being attached to mortgages by most lenders. With the minimum deposit being about ten percent, even the mortgaging option of home ownership is not a viable option for most people.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"/>

Renting is now the new reality and this is what most people are being forced to settle for. The task of pay a little bit of money on a monthly basis is proving a lot more possible compared to having to raise the huge amount of deposits that most lenders are demanding. But is renting really the cheaper option? Statistics say that it actually isn’t in cheap to rent in more ways than one. For starters should you be able to pay the huge deposit on mortgages the monthly rates are surprisingly cheaper. In fact the rates are much cheaper than even the monthly rents that you could be paying.

The worst bit about renting is that while in certain countries there are government restrictions on the rent and how it can be raised in most others landlords are free to raise rent as they please. Security of tenure is also a major issue when it comes to renting. In many countries the security of tenure is too short thus a tenant will never truly feel at home in their rented dwelling.
